To many as a child, the afternoon chime of an ice cream truck signifies the start of summer. In New York City, for 25 years, at the corner of Newkirk & Coney Island Avenue Mister Softee has been making children and adults smile. They keep it simple - soft serve ice cream. If you are looking for a classic New-York experience, this is one ice cream truck to visit. Vanilla milkshakes, chocolate shell dipped vanilla ice cream cones, double chocolate ice cream cones or pistachio and rum raisin flavored soft serve entices customers during sweltering hot summers. Once you hear the jingle, you will find your hands searching through your pockets for change to purchase one of these iconic treats.

Serving only ice cream sandwiches, this gourmet ice cream truck resides in Los Angeles. Coolhaus co-founders Natasha Case and Freya Estreller originated by baking cookies, making ice cream, and combining them into "cool houses" in 2008. The owners have mutual backgrounds in the design and real estate fields and began naming their ice cream sandwiches after architects and architectural movements that inspired them. Coolhaus’s stand-apart offerings include avocado sea salt ice cream, cinnamon cookie dough, key lime pie and Viatemese iced coffee. Their cookies range from Lucky Charms, Red Velvet, chocolate chip, black and white and salted caramel macaroon. Their dedication to innovation is one of the top priorities, but equally important is their commitment to quality and sustainability. Every Coolhaus treat is all-natural, handmade and organic whenever possible, made with sustainably produced, hormone-free dairy and fresh, local ingredients. They now have food trucks in LA, Dallas, and New York City.

Handcrafted organic soft serve, served in hand rolled sugar cones, cake cones, and compostable cups. The vanilla soft-serve cone is smooth, creamy, and luscious, with flecks of vanilla bean. Chocolate hard shell dip is made from Tcho dark chocolate and served with the option of a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt. Twirl and Dip creates all natural fresh fruit ice lollies, specialty sundaes, ice cream sodas and floats. If you're ever in Golden Gate Park by the California Academy of Science or the de Young Museum, stop by this truck.

Cow Tipping Creamery understands that people have an emotional attachment to soft serve ice cream, childhood memories. Since soft serve has not really evolved since they were kids, they decided to change the way people look at the iconic dessert. With exotic toppings such brown sugar hot fudge, pomegranate molasses, fresh lemon curd, molasses graham crumble or toasted marshmallows, they take the classic soft serve cone and turn it into a gourmet, one of a kind treat. Try one of their specials, the “From Texas, With Love,” which includes soft serve of choice, chocolate Dr. Pepper sauce, honeyed pecans, sugar crystals and southern crack candy if you would like a soft serve experience like no other.

CVT Soft Serve, which stands for Chocolate, Vanilla, Twist, has taken on the frozen yogurt trend with their perfect blend of California dairy. They keep it simple with only chocolate and vanilla flavor options - because their goal is to provide the highest quality of soft serve ice cream. You will find them roaming LA streets with their 19610-born Mr. Softee truck named Charlie, partnering with local coffee shops to provide affogato or bakeries to create the perfect ice cream sandwich. The only toppings you will find at this soft serve truck are sprinkles and sea salt - because they don’t believe in hiding their ice cream behind gummy bears.
